Structure

UK forces are organised in an unusually flexible structure. This enables the right forces to be deployed to the right operational zone

The RAF Space Command deployed in a totally different manner to the other space navies. Small craft have 1 or 2 pilots, mid sized craft are more akin to a bomber, and larger craft are run like forward operating bases. The RAF is split into a number of Commands with Space Command responsible for the RSF.

Space Command

RSF Command is based at RAF High Wycombe, United Kingdom, Earth. This HQ manages all RAF and RSF assets and provides administrative support to these and visiting forces. Off-World stations have their own HQ but still report back to Space Command.

Groups

Groups are the subdivisions of operational commands; these are responsible for certain types of operation or for operations in limited spatial areas and systems.
Group 1 are responsible for all of the fast assets in Sol system.
Group 2 control all transport and strategic deployments to other UK system interests.
Other groups are formed as required. Some are long term such as Group 3 based in the Alpha Centauri system. Others are short-term and are usually deployed with a battle platform FOB station.

Stations

As their name suggests RSF stations are long-term bases. They can be operational stations such as a Battle Platform, or a variety of support stations such as RSF Ceres which is the RSF’s premier testing and research station.

Wings

Many stations are divided in to wings. These can be operational wings or administrative wings. Commonly there are Flight wings, Engineering wings, and Administration wings.

Squadrons

Squadrons are formations of RSF starcraft and personnel. A squadron carries out the primary mission of the RSF.

Flights

Flights are a sub-division of a squadron. Commonly there are two flights, A and B.

Expeditionary Groups

When conflict arises the RSF alone cannot control it. Additional assistance is usually required from the other branches of the UK military. The British Army provide most of the ground troops along with Royal Marines. By far the most commonly used military force is from the Phoenix Legion. These Expeditionary Groups are formed as required.
