The Black Bag, or deployment bag has been used by the British Army for many years. It contains all that a soldier could need whilst on operations. It is a 110lt capacity bag with shoulder and back pack straps, 2 side pockets and 2 end pockets.

Colours vary depending on the service. Navy blue, Olive, Air force blue, and RSF black.

The black bag contains a multitude of equipment, some of which is modified depending on the soldier deployment.

  • Environment weave underwear. These are a highly advanced system designed to keep the soldier comfortable in a variety of extreme climates and temperatures. Woven from a variety of materials including; carbon nanotube protection, blood clotting foam, body monitoring system, and soldier teamwear.

Options

The soldiers deployment plays a major part of what is actually placed in the black bag. Cold climates for instance have additional cold weather equipment.
